African Mudcloth Cushions

The Mudcloth fabric is a handmade Malian cotton fabric traditionally dyed with fermented mud. It has an important place in traditional Mali (African) culture and has, more recently, become a symbol of Malian cultural identity. Having been constructed in this unique fashion for hundreds of years, the skill has been passed from one generation to the next.

The earthen materials are applied to the fabric from fermented mud that creates a distinctly unique, eye catching allure regardless of your homes decor and pairs perfectly when placed on a lounge, bed, sitting area and even floors!

Mudcloth cushions are handwoven in panels and are always unique owing to the the fact they are made and printed by hand. Never are two the same, the pattern will often be similar depending upon the region and tribe that created it, but never are they made to be an exact copy.
